Mary C. (Kier) Steuer, age 80, of Washington, Kansas, passed away on September 1, 2025, at Washington County Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home in Washington. The family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to greet visitors.

A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 8, at Washington Christian Church, with Rev. Eli Sweany officiating. Music will be provided by Gay Lynn Manning and Olivia Gaschler, featuring the hymns “Amazing Grace” and “I Can Only Imagine.”

Burial will follow at Washington City Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; her children, Dan (Michelle) Pianalto of Garden City, KS, and their children, Kaden and Hannah Leiker; Marla Brauer (Tobi Geiger) of Riddells Creek, Australia, and her children, Chase (Sarah) Lane, and their children Noah and Isla, and Carissa Crabtree; Nick (Olivia) Pianalto of Madison, AL, and their children, Madison, Brayden, and Broderick; Alan (Nicole) Steuer and their children, Josh, Owen, and Jamie; and her siblings: Margaret Stratton, John Kier, and Nancy (Terry) Beeman.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Christina “Chrissie” Koester; and siblings Jim Kier and Tom Kier.
