Kansas State University Salina’s Civic Lecture Series returns for the 2025-2026 academic year with a discussion on adult education and the role of community collaboration in supporting citizens, employers, and regional economic growth.

The series encourages open dialogue on topics of civic importance. The first lecture, “The Hidden Potential of Our Hidden Workforce,” will be presented by Kelly Mobray and Emily Ryan at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, in the K-State Salina College Center Conference Room.

Mobray, director of adult education for Salina Public Schools, oversees the Salina Adult Education Center, which provides programs for adults seeking high school diplomas, college preparation, or English language skills. Ryan is the Partners 4 Success facilitator at the center, leading a 12-week employment training program for individuals facing barriers to stable employment.

Admission to the lecture is free. Guests may bring their own lunch or purchase a meal from K-State Salina’s Centennial Dining.
