Junction City Police Department and the Geary County Sheriff’s Office will host a full morning of community engagement and fundraising on Sept. 13th in the parking lot on the corner of 900 Street and North Washington Street.

The morning will include a Cover the Cruiser battle, all in support of athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state of Kansas. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Kansas programming, which provides year-round sports, health, and leadership opportunities to thousands of athletes.

The Cover the Cruiser Battle pits Junction City Police Department and the Geary County Sheriff’s Office against each other in a friendly head-to-head competition to see who can fundraise the most and cover more of their patrol vehicles. Members of the public are invited to attend, donate, and cover the cruiser of their choice. Every dollar raised will directly benefit Special Olympics Kansas programs.
