On September 12th, O’Reilly Auto Parts closed on a one-acre piece of land at 501 W. Crawford.
The auto parts store will sit on the north end of the lot – closer to the highway – and has an estimated opening date of March of 2026.
O’Reilly has been under contract with owners, Crawford Investments, LLC, since last October.
They said there were delays due to legal boundary lines, rezoning, and additional setbacks with the closing process.
Crawford Investments still owns the remaining three acres on the south portion of the lot and are open to investors.
They said the lot could potentially be split again, but it would take additional red tape to complete that process.
Crawford Investments said they are looking for businesses that will be good for the community and provide a service to its residents and a positive resource for Clay Center.
