On Monday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. and Senator Jon Husted introduced the Resilient Tire Supply and Jobs Act, aimed at creating a federal tax credit for consumers who buy and use retreaded American-made tires.

The legislation targets the trucking industry, emphasizing the importance of quality tires for maintaining strong logistics and transportation networks. The tax credit would apply to tires that are both retreaded and purchased in the United States. Eligible taxpayers could claim a credit each year equal to the lesser of 30% of the cost of the retreaded tires or $30 per tire placed in service during that year.

The bill has garnered support from major organizations and tire manufacturers, including Goodyear, Bridgestone America, the American Trucking Associations, the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association, Penske, Waste Management, and BD Transportation.
