Weather Challenges Contribute to Decline in 2025 Kansas State Fair Attendance

The Kansas State Fair saw lower attendance in 2025 compared to the previous year. Over its ten-day run, 300,784 people attended, down from about 321,000 in 2024. Heavy rain and muddy conditions contributed to the decline.

The weather forced the closure of grass parking lots, which became difficult to navigate. To address the issue, organizers arranged additional parking at Hutchinson Community College, the Hutchinson Uptown Mall, and Bold 3PL, with shuttle services transporting visitors to the fairgrounds.

Fair officials credited the Hutchinson community and emergency partners for helping make adjustments quickly and safely.

The 2026 Kansas State Fair is scheduled for September 11–20.
