14th Annual Kansas Book Festival Offers Free Events for All Ages

The 14th annual Kansas Book Festival will be held on Saturday, September 20, at Washburn University, hosted by the Washburn Library. The full schedule is now available, featuring 50 speakers, including New York Times bestsellers and national award winners, presenting on fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children’s books.

In addition to author presentations, the festival offers outdoor performances, a book-art exhibit, food trucks, and exhibitor tents with more than 40 publishers, nonprofits, and individual authors.

The festival is free and open to all ages. Special programs for young readers include the Kansas Authors Club youth awards, a high school open mic, and a presentation by the Bill Martin Jr. Picture Book Award winner. Outdoor children’s activities will also be available in partnership with the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center and the Mulvane Art Lab.
