Garfield Elementary PEP Outlines Events and Volunteer Opportunities for 2025-2026 School Year

Garfield Elementary School Parent Educator Partnership (GES PEP) meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 3:45 pm at GES.

Upcoming meetings are listed below:

· October 15th

· November 19th

· December 17th

· January 21st

· February 18th

· March 25th (this is moved one week back due to Spring Break)

· April 15th

The group will have three volunteers at School Picture Day, which is on September 25th. Volunteers will include Bridget Schaefer, Megan Weisenberger, and Jamie Reed.

The group also plans to provide food for the Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences, October 22nd-23rd. To help with food and see what is still needed, click here.

GES PEP will hold their Chance To Win Fundraiser on Wednesday, November 5th, 4:30 pm-6:30 pm. The group is looking for volunteers to walk downtown with students from 2:35 pm to 3:35 pm on October 1st and 2nd. They are also looking for volunteers to help with calling businesses on October 8th-9th, and volunteers to pick up donations on October 15th and 16th. The success of the fundraiser will depend on contributions from sponsors who donate various items to be put in the Chance to Win or give monetary donations. To find out more information, click here.

A Staff Holiday Wishlist event will be held from November 15th to December 20th, where parents and others can donate items on a teacher’s Wishlist.

Other upcoming events include:

· 4th Grade Kansas Heritage Day (date is yet to be decided)

· Care Closet Drive in Conjunction with StuCo (February 9th-13th)

· Parent/Teacher Conference Food (February 25th-26th)

· Donuts with Grown-Ups and State Testing Kick off in March

· Young Entrepreneuer Fair and Sloppy Joe Meal (Wednesday April 1st, 4:30 pm-6:30 pm)

· Providing state testing treats for students and staff (GES PEP provides a snack bar and water bottles)

· Family Movie Night (Friday, April 24th at 6:30 pm)

· Providing field Day Treats for Students and Staff (GES PEP provides a snack and water bottle)
