Gather For Good Match Day was a success for many different initiatives, perhaps none more so than the Clay Center Multi-Generational Life Center.

A total of $156,086 was donated by 100 different individuals on September 18th. Both of these figures were the most of any Match Day initiative. Another $2,000 will be added from the CCCIF match total donations.

“The generosity of our community is astounding,” said CCCIF executive director Krista Thomas. “To see more than $156,000 come together in a single day shows the deep commitment the community has to creating a stronger, healthier future for every generation. The Life Center is one step closer to becoming a reality thanks to this outpouring of support.”

A previous anonymous donor provided a matching donation up to $500,000 for any donations made through November 1, 2025. That means that the $158,086 will be doubled to $316,172. Another $19,000 was donated to the Life Center before Match Day and was also doubled to $38,000, which means a total of close to $355,000 has been raised since September 1st.

“We are humbled by every gift—large and small—that will help bring the Life Center to life,” Thomas said. “This is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about building hope and opportunities that will last for decades to come.”

This total, along with donations made before September 1st, means that the Life Center is now just $640,000 short of meeting its goal of full completion. With the matching donation still in play, that means they are looking for $320,000 more between now and November 1st.

A ground-breaking ceremony at 9th and Franklin Streets will be held on Friday, September 26th at 10 a.m. The public is invited to attend. The facility is set for completion in September of 2026.
