As fall begins this week, the American Red Cross is encouraging people to celebrate the season by donating blood or platelets to help maintain a strong blood supply. Donors of all blood types are welcome, with an urgent need for O positive and B negative.

As a thank-you, anyone who donates blood, platelets, or plasma between Sept. 22 and Oct. 19, 2025, will receive a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card sent by email.

To make an appointment or get more information, donors can download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.

Donors must bring a blood donor card, driver’s license, or two other forms of identification at check-in. Eligible donors are generally in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are 17 years or older. High school students and donors under 18 must also meet certain height and weight requirements.

Blood and platelet donors can save time by completing their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online using RapidPass® before arriving at the donation site. To use RapidPass®, visit RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or access it through the Blood Donor App.
