Mark your calendars for a day of learning, movement, and fellowship at the River Valley District’s Fall Fling, happening Monday, October 13th from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Event Center in Clay Center. This lively event incorporates wellness through hobbies, health, and friendship.

Start your morning with a delightful dive into Winter Bird Feeding, led by none other than Chuck Otte, retired Extension Agent and passionate bird enthusiast. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just curious about backyard visitors, Chuck’s insights will have you chirping with excitement.

Lunchtime brings a colorful salad buffet—a feast for the senses! Bring your favorite salad to share and sample a spread of fresh, flavorful creations. A kitchen will be available to keep your dish perfectly chilled or warmed, so it’ll be perfect for all our friends attending.

After lunch, stretch, strengthen, and smile with Senior Fitness, guided by wellness expert Gail Hileman. This energizing session includes gentle warm-ups, cool-downs, breathing techniques, and strength exercises using resistance bands and hand weights (provided). Whether seated or standing, with or without equipment, you’re welcome to move at your own pace.

For questions, reach out to Extension Agents Jordan Schuette – 785-325-2121 or Monica Thayer – 785-527-5084. Come for the fun, stay for the fellowship—and leave feeling refreshed and inspired.
