M.C.I. Foods Inc., a company in Santa Fe Springs, California, is recalling about 91,585 pounds of certain frozen ready-to-eat breakfast burritos and wraps containing eggs because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm), a harmful bacteria.

The recalled products were made between September 17 and October 14, 2025, and include Los Cabos, El Más Fino, and Midamar brands. These items were shipped to foodservice institutions nationwide. The products have establishment numbers EST. 1162A or P-5890A inside the USDA inspection mark.

The contamination was discovered after the company’s routine testing of egg ingredients found Listeria. No illnesses have been reported so far.

Listeria can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that mostly affects older adults, people with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their babies. Symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, or gastrointestinal issues. In pregnant women, it can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery, or newborn infection. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics.

Institutions should not serve these products. Any recalled items should be discarded immediately.
