Kansas State women’s golf captured the team title at the Powercat Invitational at Colbert Hills Golf Club on Tuesday, marking back-to-back wins in the event. The Wildcats finished 27 shots ahead of second-place Cincinnati with a team score of 13-over par 877.
Sophomore Nanami Nakashima won the individual title with a 5-under par 211, the only player under par in the 88-player field. Senior Noa van Beek finished second at even-par 216, and sophomore Kelsey Chen took third at 7-over par 223. All five of K-State’s scoring players finished in the top 20.
Nakashima played a strong final round, finishing with consecutive birdies on holes 15 and 16. Van Beek and Chen also recorded career-best finishes, while freshmen Keen Visavapattamawan and Casey Kang posted top-20 results. The Wildcats return to competition in February at the Puerto Rico Classic.
