The FDA and CDC, working with state and local partners, announced the investigation of a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Richmond infections tied to a single lot of moringa leaf powder imported from Vallon Farm Direct PVT LTD in Jodhpur, India. In response, all Member’s Mark Super Greens dietary supplement powder has been recalled, regardless of lot codes or expiration dates.

There have been 11 illnesses with three hospitalizations reported, including two illnesses in Kansas. Out of 10 people interviewed, nine reported consuming powdered dietary supplements, six of whom ate Member’s Mark Super Greens, while three consumed other products containing moringa leaf powder. FDA traceback investigations traced the powder from multiple points of sale back to the same imported lot (VFD/ORG/MORP/L/24, best by November 2027).

Testing of open samples from ill individuals’ homes in Virginia and Michigan confirmed Salmonella contamination, matching the outbreak strain.

Sam’s Club has stopped distribution and sales of the recalled product and is notifying customers. Consumers are urged not to consume the supplement and to discard or return it. The FDA continues to investigate the source of contamination and any additional affected products. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
