Haggerty Named to NABC Player of the Year Watch List

Kansas State junior guard P.J. Haggerty was named to the 20-player watch list for the 2026 NABC Division I Player of the Year award, the organization announced Thursday. The award will be voted on by Division I head coaches and presented during the week of the 2026 Final Four.

Haggerty joins four other Big 12 players on the list, including BYU’s AJ Dybantsa and Kansas’ Darryn Peterson. The Memphis transfer has collected several preseason honors, including All-America recognition from CBS Sports and The Field of 68, along with All-Big 12 honors from league coaches.

In K-State’s recent exhibition at Missouri, Haggerty scored 23 points with six assists and two steals. Last season, he averaged 21.7 points per game and set an AAC single-season scoring record.
