K-State Cross Country Moves Up in Big 12 Standings

Kansas State’s men’s and women’s cross country teams each improved their conference finish from last season at the Big 12 Championship on Friday in Lawrence. The men placed 11th with 298 points, while the women finished ninth with 276.

Sophomore Jackson Esquibel led the men in 57th place with a time of 24:51.2, followed closely by Brock Olsen (60th) and freshman Logan Beckman (64th, personal best). Senior Grace Meyer paced the women in 44th at 20:59.4, with sophomore Stella Miner just two seconds behind in 46th.

Oklahoma State won the men’s title behind Brian Musau’s third straight individual championship, while BYU claimed its third consecutive women’s crown, led by freshman Jane Hedengren’s Big 12 record time of 18:29.6.

K-State will continue postseason competition at the NCAA Midwest Regional on November 14 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
