Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt released the annual “Overview of the Health Insurance Market in Kansas,” which provides details on the 2026 Kansas Health Insurance Marketplace. Open enrollment gives Kansans the chance to review their health insurance options. They can keep their current plan if it’s available, or switch to a new plan from the same or a different company. Schmidt emphasized that it’s important for Kansans to make informed choices about coverage that best fits their and their family’s healthcare needs.

The open enrollment period runs from November 1 through January 15. Kansans who want coverage starting January 1 must enroll by December 15. Health insurance purchased between December 16 and January 15 will start February 1.

The rates in the report reflect the end of enhanced subsidies by Congress after December 31, 2025.
