With fewer than 500 Amur tigers left in the wild, Rolling Hills Zoo is launching Tiger Falls, a new immersive exhibit focused on protecting these endangered cats and other threatened Asian species. The habitat is designed to resemble the natural environments Amur tigers and snow leopards rely on, offering more space, enrichment, and activities that support natural behaviors and long-term health. The exhibit will house up to six tigers and snow leopards, and visitors will be able to watch training sessions that demonstrate how the animals take part in their own daily care.

Tiger Falls will also feature red pandas, with two already selected to join the zoo once construction is complete.

Construction begins this spring. To prepare, the zoo’s female Amur tiger, Viktoria, is being moved to the Louisville Zoo through the Species Survival Plan, which oversees breeding for endangered animals. Snow leopards Sherman and Bettina will remain on exhibit through November.

When Tiger Falls opens, new SSP-recommended Amur tigers will arrive, helping to strengthen the species’ future. The zoo is encouraging community support for the project and its conservation efforts.
