The City of Marysville will kick off the holiday season with its inaugural ‘Christmas on Broadway to Light Up Marysville’ event on Saturday, November 29th. The public is invited to enjoy a night of old-fashioned holiday fun beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the lighting of Christmas Wonderland in Koester Park.

Wayne Kruse, OneMarysville Executive Director, highlighted this new event.

“This year, as we were planning our Christmas activities, we wanted to emphasize our new Christmas tree in downtown Marysville.”

“So, we decided that we wanted to create an event that leans into lighting the Christmas tree and, at the same time, lighting Christmas Wonderland.”

Activities will include free horse-drawn carriage rides throughout the evening at Pony Park, a free-will chili fundraiser beginning at 5:30 p.m. by the Marysville Volunteer Fire Department, with proceeds going toward the purchase of a new fire truck. At 6:15 p.m., the mayor will light the city’s Christmas Tree at Pony Park, followed by a fireworks display.

Kruse said Christmas Wonderland is full of Christmas fun for the children.

“It’s this magical place for kids to play. It’s right next to Santa’s house.”

“There are lights, there are activities, there are gingerbread houses. It’s this really fun space.”

Christmas on Broadway is just one of many events going on in Marysville this holiday season.
