Kansas State junior guard P.J. Haggerty was named Big 12 Player of the Week after averaging 31.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists across three games, helping the Wildcats finish as runner-up at the Hall of Fame Classic.
Haggerty posted back-to-back 30-point performances against Tulsa and Mississippi State, including a season-high 37 points in the win over the Bulldogs. He opened the week with a 31-point, 10-rebound double-double against Tulsa, becoming the first Wildcat with a 30-10 game since 2008.
He added 27 points in a close 86-85 loss to Nebraska in the tournament final. Haggerty is the first K-State player to begin a season with six straight 20-point games, totaling 168 points during that stretch.
