U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. announced Friday that two of his small business priorities advanced in the U.S. House of Representatives with strong bipartisan support. The Investing in All of America Act aims to expand access to capital for small businesses in rural and low-income communities, as well as those involved in manufacturing and critical technology sectors. The legislation strengthens the Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) program, which has a long history of supporting small business growth.

The House also approved the Small Business Regulatory Reduction Act, which prevents the Small Business Administration from issuing regulations that would increase compliance costs for small businesses. The bill requires the SBA to report each year on regulatory burdens placed on small employers by federal agencies.

A third bill, backed by Sen. Marshall, the Connecting Small Businesses with Career and Technical Education Graduates Act, passed the House in June. It directs Small Business Development Centers and Women’s Business Centers to help small businesses connect with graduates of Career and Technical Education programs. Sen. Marshall is working to move all three measures through the U.S. Senate.
