Parker Welding and Fabrication (PWF), a family and veteran-owned business, recently opened up shop at 619 West Crawford in Clay Center.
PWF offers certified welding and custom fabrication by appointment at their new location, along with providing full mobile services out in the field. Owner Alex Parker said all welders are certified.
“All of our welders are either AWS or ASME certified. In order to become certified, you have to take a weld test that’s given by a certified welding inspector.”
“You perform the weld test, and then they inspect it and cut it apart. And if you pass, you get that certification for that weld. If you don’t, then you’ve got to try again later.”
The Kansas Department of Transportation has recognized PWF for bridge welding. Their full mobile welding and fabrication services can handle large jobs at your location, along with in-shop services.
Parker spoke of why he opened a shop in Clay Center.
“Clay Center is, of course, growing, and that did play a part in it.”
“The location geographically, you’re right outside of Manhattan, you’ve got Concordia nearby, you’re outside of Salina, so it’s just a good spot overall.”
Parker said he is looking forward to this next step in Clay Center.
