Lady Tigers, Tigers Sweep Marysville

The first win for the Lady Tigers came in a 39-34 NCKL victory Friday night against the Bulldogs. Junior Lily Edwards had another big night with 21 points. Edwards also brought down 7 rebounds and swiped 8 steals. Savanah Bloomdahl put up 6 points, Molly McGee 4, Boston Craig 3, Berklee Gisselbeck 2, Lara Hammond 2. On the boards junior Molly McGee ripped down 6 rebounds and freshman Jayde Richter had 5. Clay Center never trailed in the game, leading 23-15 at half and they held an 11 point lead going to the final quarter.

The Tiger Boys made it a sweep in the Black Squirrel City with a 54-39 league win. After leading 8-4 through one quarter, Clay Center turned up the heat to take a 23-7 lead at halftime and would lead by 24 going into the fourth. A balanced attack led the Tigers with points coming from Grady Theurer 11, Corbyn Davies 10, Abram Stratton 9, Rylan Gurney 8, Will Cranmer 5, Christian Qualls 5, Tarin Pfizenmaier 2. Davies crashed the glass for 8 boards, Qualls had 4 while Cranmer and Gurney had 3 rebounds. The Tigers improved to (2-1), the Lady Tigers are now (1-2).
