Janet Kay Snavely, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 11, 1947 to Warren Lyndon & Peggy Maxine “Liby” Noyes.
She married the love of her life, Leland Snavely, on February 3, 1969 in Concordia, Kansas. Together they had three children – Lisa, Linden, and Chasta.
Janet was a farm wife helping out wherever needed. She would run equipment, milk cows, get her hands dirty, and tackle any task that came her way.
In her older years she found joy in the simple things: watching tv (especially QVC and the SYFY), looking out her window and watching the birds and other small animals that may wander though her yard, going on drives with her sister Carol, eating candy and pop for supper, scrolling through Facebook, and most of all spending time with her family.
Janet went by many names: Mom, Grandma, Grandma with Tractors, Grandma J, Great-Grandma and many more. She was a fun grandma. She loved to spoil all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her house was always filled with endless snacks, and spontaneous trips to Dollar General to get more was always in reach. She would never fail to make you laugh with her driving skills, word pronunciation, and nutty personality.
She is survived by her three children – Lisa (Jeff) Widen and Linden (Julie) Snavely of Concordia, KS; and Chasta Cleveland, Salina, Ks. Her siblings Linda Metro, Carol Noyes, and Sherry Shepperd all of Concordia, KS. Six grandchildren, Tyler (Kylie) Snavely, Concordia, KS; Logan (Mariah) Widen, Concordia, KS; Kora (Paul) Rundus, Concordia, KS; Gannon Cleveland, Salina, KS; McKenzie Widen, Concordia, KS; and Cameron Cleveland, Salina, KS. Five great-grandchildren Falyn, Evelyn, and Slade Snavely, and Adeline Widen all of Concordia, KS; and many other family and friends.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband Leland Snavely, her parents Warren Lyndon and Peggy Maxine “Liby” Noyes; siblings Nancy Bartlett, John Noyes, and Carla Cox; daughter- in-law Julie Snavely, and great-grandchild Ivy Rose Mclaughlin.
