Wildcat Duo Earns Academic All-District Honors

Kansas State volleyball players Brenna Schmidt and Symone Sims were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams, the organization announced Tuesday.

Schmidt carries a 3.72 grade-point average in humanities, while Sims owns a perfect 4.00 GPA in organizational management. It marks the second straight season both student-athletes have earned the honor.

Schmidt, a junior middle blocker from Eagle, Nebraska, led the Wildcats with 1.05 blocks per set and finished second on the team with 79 total blocks. She also recorded career highs with 90 kills and a .271 hitting percentage.

Sims, a junior libero from Frisco, Texas, led K-State with 423 digs and averaged 3.99 digs per set, ranking among the Big 12 leaders. She also added 126 assists and 21 service aces.

K-State finished the season 18-10 and earned an NCAA Tournament berth.
