Beginning this week, traffic will be reduced to one lane controlled by traffic signals on a K-15 bridge over Chapman Creek in Dickinson County.

The bridge on K-15 is located about 4.5 miles north of the east K-15/K-18 junction.

With the traffic signals, motorists can anticipate delays of up to five minutes at the bridge with a 14-foot width restriction.

Traffic is being restricted to one lane due to recent findings from bridge rail inspections. The lane restriction will remain in place until bridge replacement has been completed.

Currently, letting for the bridge replacement has been accelerated and is scheduled to occur in Jan. 2026. We anticipate construction for the K-15 bridge to begin in the Spring/Summer 2026.

KDOT urges all motorists to stay alert and follow all posted signs when approaching and driving through a work zone. To stay aware of all highway construction projects across Kansas, visit kandrive.gov or call 511.
