The Kansas City Chiefs announced their team awards for the 2025 season on Saturday, honoring Patrick Mahomes, Ashton Gillotte and George Karlaftis.
Mahomes was named the recipient of the Derrick Thomas Award, given each year to the team’s most valuable player. His season ended early due to a knee injury in Week 15, but he still totaled 4,009 yards and 27 touchdowns in 2025.
Rookie defensive end Ashton Gillotte earned the Mack Lee Hill Award, which recognizes the team’s top first-year player. Gillotte finished the season with 24 quarterback pressures, eight hits, three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
Defensive end George Karlaftis received the Ed Block Courage Award, presented to a player who shows commitment and perseverance. The honor is selected by teammates.
All three awards were voted on by the Chiefs’ players, reflecting the respect each earned in the locker room during the season.
