Kansas State University offers free farm management workshop

By Jennifer Theurer

Kansas State University is offering a free workshop to support farm families as they learn new ways to manage their soil, their grazing lands, and develop cropping systems.

Three sessions will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Lawrence starting February 10.

For the first session, northeast area agronomist Tina Sullivan will talk about how soil tests can guide fertilizer decisions.

The February 17 workshop features area grassland specialist, Ethan Walker, discussing grazing capacity, and the final session on February 24 discusses keeping things simple in a regenerative cropping system with Michael Thompson, president of the Kansas Soil Health Alliance.

There is no cost to attend but online registration is required and can be done through the Douglas County Extension Office website.
