LIFT Clay County is launching a new leadership training series this week aimed at helping area professionals build practical leadership skills while strengthening local connections. The series takes place Feb 10 and 24, March 10 and 24, and April 7 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Clay Center Utility Park Zoo Welcome Center.

Sophia Gallop, LIFT organizer, said the six-week leadership course will meet two hours per night and will be taught by Jeremy Gray, an internationally recognized leadership trainer. Gray has worked with thousands of companies and organizations in locations ranging from Kansas to overseas assignments. Gallop said the goal is to bring high-quality leadership development opportunities to the local community.

While LIFT focuses on young professionals, Gallop said the leadership series is open to anyone interested in developing leadership skills.

LIFT Clay County organizes activities under three pillars: fun and networking, community engagement, and professional development. Organizers aim to host at least two events per year in each category. Professional development efforts include workshops and training programs, while community engagement projects have included holiday card-making for senior centers and volunteer efforts. Networking and social events are designed to help young professionals build in-person connections.

LIFT currently has more than 30 members and holds quarterly meetings, along with come-and-go events throughout the year.

More information and event updates are available on the LIFT Clay County Facebook page.
