Clay Center Community High School (CCCHS) Vocal Music will present their Winter Vocal Concert, “Songs of Love,” on Thursday, February 19th, in the Martyn Snodgrass Auditorium, at 7:00 p.m.
Directed by Kara Bergsten with the accompaniment of Kari Stratton, the concert is themed around the Valentine’s Day holiday.
Bergsten said the students voted on a variety of songs.
“The students did select a lot of the music back in December. I gave them a chance to give a lot of input.”
“A few of the songs I chose from our state large group list because we’re performing them in April at our state large group contest for KSHSAA.”
Tiger Chorale will finish the concert with a special Show Choir set.
“Tiger Chorale is the last performance of the concert, and they’re actually doing a Show Choir set.”
“They will sing and dance for their set. And some of the choreography was done by Tatum Johnston and Aubrey Tadtman.”
“It’s kind of exciting that we’ve got to use some seniors at the high school to choreograph for us.”
Admission is free and open to the public. Enjoy ‘Songs of Love’ while supporting the local students this Thursday.
