Kansas State came up short Sunday, falling to Iowa State 76-72 at Hilton Coliseum.
The Wildcats dropped to 14-13 overall and 7-7 in Big 12 play. Iowa State improved to 20-6 and 8-6 in the conference.
Junior guard Taryn Sides led K-State with 23 points, including 20 in the second half. She shot 8-of-17 from the field and made three 3-pointers, adding four assists and two steals. Freshmen Gina Garcia and Jordan Speiser each scored 11 points, while Speiser pulled down seven rebounds.
K-State led 20-19 after the first quarter but trailed 37-30 at halftime. The Wildcats cut a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to one with just over a minute remaining. A late 3-pointer and free throws by Iowa State sealed the result.
K-State shot 38.3 percent from the field and finished with seven 3-pointers.
