Lawmakers in the U.S. House have introduced a resolution to designate Feb. 21–28 as National FFA Week. The effort was led by the co-chairs of the Congressional FFA Caucus, along with 58 bipartisan colleagues. Companion legislation was introduced in the U.S. Senate by two senators.
The National FFA Organization is a congressionally chartered, school-based youth leadership organization with more than 1,042,245 student members. Those students participate in 9,400 local FFA chapters across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Congressional FFA Caucus, which includes more than 60 House members, was launched in December 2021. The caucus works to raise awareness of school-based agricultural education and FFA programs while strengthening relationships between Congress and the next generation of leaders in food and agriculture.
