A small private plane was forced to make an emergency landing in a cornfield southwest of the intersection of K‑99 and Road 400 on Feb. 23, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash report.
The 1977 Grumman American single‑engine aircraft lost propeller power shortly before 9:58 a.m., forcing the pilot to land in the field at 3951 N K‑99. Both the pilot, a 41‑year‑old male from Florida, and his passenger were wearing safety restraints and were reported to have no apparent injuries. The report shows that the aircraft was later removed by a private tow company.
