Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid met with reporters Friday as the team prepares for the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Reid said the priority is addressing problems from last season, when Kansas City finished with its first losing record in more than a decade. Coaches are reviewing schemes in the mornings and evaluating personnel in the afternoons.
The Chiefs hired Chad O’Shea as wide receivers coach and DeMarco Murray as running backs coach. Reid pointed to O’Shea’s NFL experience and said Murray wanted the opportunity to coach at the professional level.
Kansas City owns the ninth pick in the 2026 draft, its highest first-round selection since 2013. Reid said the team is building a plan through draft meetings and evaluations.
Reid also updated quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ recovery from knee surgery, saying he is working daily and making progress.
