The Cloud County Health Department will host a Community Baby Shower at the First United Methodist Church in Concordia, Saturday, March 14th, at 2:00 p.m.
The Health Department has been hosting the baby shower since 2019. Teryn Buss, MCH Coordinator, said the Community Baby Shower began to educate parents about safe sleep.
“The Community Baby Shower in Cloud County began in response to the county’s high rates of SIDS, aiming to provide families with education and resources to help infants with safe sleep practices.”
The baby shower is geared toward new mothers and expectant mothers. Buss spoke about the resources that will be available at the event.
“The resources that will be available at the baby shower include prenatal and postpartum care, safe sleep practices, breastfeeding and formula support, postpartum depression and anxiety.”
“Additionally, we’ll have resources for single parents or young parents, including diapers, wipes, bottles, clothing, pack and plays or cribs, and also books to promote early literacy for new babies and babies from zero to three months.”
Interested parties can preregister by contacting Buss at the Health Department. Registration will also be available at the door on the day of the Shower.
