The Community Foundation of Dickinson County will host its annual ‘Donate Dickinson County Day’ on Friday, March 20th. This 24-hour event is meant to bring the community together to celebrate the future of Dickinson County.

42 local eligible funds will be participating this year. Elizabeth Weese, Community Foundation Director, spoke about how this annual event works.

“Donors can go online to donatedickinson.com, and they can give to one or more of the participating nonprofits.”

“Every gift that comes in is boosted by our match. We are planning to match up to $5,000 per organization, thanks to the generosity of a match grant from the Patterson Family Foundation.”

All donations starting at midnight on the 20th will be eligible for matching dollars. Along with donating online, the Community Foundation will also have a drive-thru option from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for in-person contributions outside of the Convention & Visitors Bureau on March 20th.

Weese said this is a very impactful day for all of Dickinson County.

“The impact, you can see it all around us.”

“It’s food programming for kids, it’s childcare and youth programming, it’s park improvement, trail improvement, arts and culture, it’s emergency assistance for families, it’s the Eisenhower Foundation, the 4-H Foundation.”

“It’s Herington, Solomon, Woodbine, and other communities raising dollars for their communities’, it’s legacy; it’s all of that.”
