K-State Men Finish Second at Big 12 Indoor Meet

The Kansas State Wildcats men’s track and field team placed second at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championship with 124 points in Lubbock, Texas. It marks the program’s first runner-up finish since 2004. The women finished fourth with 78.5 points. Texas Tech Red Raiders won both team titles.

K-State closed the meet with a win in the men’s 4×400 relay. Nen Matlock, Heath Grant, Bongumusa Nkosi and Tavon Underwood posted a season-best 3:05.59.

In the heptathlon, freshman Dorian Charles led the Wildcats with a third-place finish and 5,698 points. Emil Uhlin was fifth and Mattix DaCunha seventh.

Selva Prabhu took second in the triple jump, while Aaron Antoine placed third. Tah Chikomba added a bronze in the 60-meter dash at 6.59 seconds.

NCAA qualifiers will be announced March 3.
