The Kansas Suicide Prevention Coalition is inviting middle and high school students across the state to take part in a Youth Art Contest designed to raise awareness about suicide prevention and spread messages of hope, help, strength and resilience.
The contest is open to students in grades 6–12, and entries can include paintings, drawings, posters, digital art, and short audio or video pieces of up to two minutes. Organizers say the aim is to give young people a meaningful way to express their experiences and emotions and share positive messages with their communities.
Students must submit original work that reflects the themes of hope and support, and AI-generated content will not be eligible for judging. The deadline for entries is April 3, 2026, and winners will be announced May 4, 2026.
The contest provides a platform for youth voices in the effort to promote mental wellness and encourage open conversations about suicide prevention throughout Kansas.
For more information and to submit an entry, visit the Kansas Suicide Prevention Coalition’s website.
