Kansas Pioneers Traveling Exhibit Coming to Clay, Cloud Counties

In July 2026, the United States will mark its 250th anniversary. The Kansas Society Daughters of the American Revolution celebrates those Kansans whose contributions are of national or international significance.

The Nathan Edson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting the KSDAR Kansas Pioneers Traveling Exhibit in both Clay and Cloud County. The opening of the exhibit in Cloud County will be 5:00-7:00 pm at the Frank Carlson Library on Monday, March 30, 2026. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served and children attending will receive a small gift. The exhibit will be on display March 30-April 3 in the Frank Carlson Room during library hours. The exhibit will also be in Clay Center at the Clay County Historical Museum, March 24-27. There will be an opening reception March 24, 5:00-7:00 pm afterwards the exhibit will be open during regular museum business hours.

The exhibition showcases Kansans and highlights pioneer-spirited citizens whose ambitions and ability to overcome difficult challenges have helped to make Kansas an exceptional state within our great nation. As the nation approaches its Semiquincentennial in 2026, the journey toward this historic milestone is an opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history. While Kansas was not one of the 13 original states, we remain proud of our history. KSDAR Celebrates American 250! recognizes the impact of Kansans on our nation. Kansans who are honored include Charles Jesse “Buffalo” James, Amelia Earhart, Olivia Beech, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Minnie Evans, Peggi Hull Deuell, Sarah Mitchell Guernsey, and Lucinda Todd.
