The Kansas State Wildcats women’s tennis team fell 4-1 to Oklahoma State Cowgirls tennis Saturday at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
K-State, ranked No. 53, opened the match with a point after Sasha Kyselova and Chanel Rustemova won by forfeit in doubles. The Wildcats needed one more doubles victory to secure the point but dropped the other two matches.
In singles play, freshman Addison Renfro added a point for K-State with a win by forfeit at No. 6. Oklahoma State secured the match with three straight singles victories.
Maralgoo Chogsomjav lost 6-4, 6-2 to No. 53 Olivia Lincer at No. 1 singles, while Diana Smolinska fell to No. 22 Rose Marie Nijkamp in straight sets.
K-State finished a three-match road stretch with a 1-2 record. The Wildcats return home next week to face Baylor Bears women’s tennis and TCU Horned Frogs women’s tennis.
