Salina, KS- Runners across the country, are finishing Eliza Fletcher’s run that she started on September 1st, but was unable to finish around the University of Memphis because she abducted and later murdered.
Chris Lehecka with the Salina Crossroads Marathon is helping organize runners this weekend to participate in the “finish Eliza’s run.”
Lehecka says that this run is a way to honor and grieve the loss of Eliza Fletcher as well as bring awareness to outdoor running safety.
Some different running tips Lehecka mentioned for safety purposes would be running in groups, wear headphones that allow you to hear, and to be aware of your surroundings.
People are encouraged to wear a pink shirt and purple shorts in solidarity with Eliza.
The run will take place Sunday morning at 6:30 beginning at the Salina YMCA in the east parking area.
