Obituary-James L. Workman

James L. Workman, age 80, of Concordia, KS, left this earthly life on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 surrounded by his family at the Bethany Home in Lindsborg, Kansas.  He was born on April 25, 1942 in Concordia, Kansas to Bennie E. & Eva E. (Ramseyer) Workman.

James attended Concordia schools while growing up in the Concordia community.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was honorably discharged.

He married Christine Huber on October 6, 1969 in Concordia, Kansas. To this union a son was born, Jimmy, Jr.

James was a heavy equipment operator for Cloud County Highway Department until his retirement.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #76 and V.F.W. Pos #588 both of Concordia.

James enjoyed playing cards, gambling, going to the casino, and junking.  Most of all James loved spending time with his beloved family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Chris Workman, Concordia, son, Jimmy Workman, Jr. (Heather), Concordia, KS; five grandchildren, Tracer, Teggan, Kailey, Keigan, and Tymber Workman. sisters, Sharon Roy (Rex), Clyde & Darlene Terry, Green River, WY; brothers, Frank Workman (Penny), Evanston, WY, Don Ramseyer, Clyde; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Durl, Rex & Bennie (Jr) & Edwin Workman; sister, Burnedette Workman.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  Following the visitation, the family will process to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, with Pastor Earl Hale Officiating.   Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588 of Concordia.

Family has asked that everyone please dress casual in honor of James wishes.
