Darlyne M. Kieffer, age 89, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the Fern’s Place Home Plus in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Rice, Kansas on May 19, 1933 to Henry and Ruby (Naillieux) Cook.
Darlyne attended rural country school during her youth in the Rice community.
On June 16, 1953 she married Albert C. Kieffer at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia. To this union 5 children were born, Jason, Gary, Dennis, Marcia and Mary.
Albert preceded her in death on December 18, 2013.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia.
Darlyne was a homemaker and also worked for the Sisters of St. Joseph at the Nazareth Motherhouse in their housekeeping department for many years.
Darlyne enjoyed cooking, gardening, and most of all taking care and spending time with her family.
Darlyne is survived by her five children, three sons, Gary Kieffer of Baldwin City, Dennis (Stephanie) Kieffer of McPherson, Jason Kieffer of Wichita; two daughters, Marcia (John) Holesovsky, Mary (David) Short, both of Wichita; three grandchildren, Caitlin Gorges, Colton Short (Isabella), Alexis Kieffer; two great grandchildren, Harlan Gorges and Aryonn Knighten; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, parents, Henry and Ruby, brother, Norman Cook.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas. A Rosary service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, evening at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Family will receive friends after the Rosary service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas with Fr. David Metz officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
