Beck’s Hybrid Breaks Ground for New Facility in Salina

By Trish Svoboda

Beck’s Hybrid, the industry’s third-largest seed brand, recently broke ground on a new facility in Salina, making it its first permanent location in Kansas. Beck’s is the largest family-owned retail seed company, beginning on a farm in Indiana, they now have facilities in Nebraska, Iowa, and soon to be Kansas. Their new 90,000-square-foot distribution building includes 100 acres dedicated to Practical Farm Research (PFR) studies.

Cody Schwartz, Seed Advisor, talks about some of the research they do.

He also talks about the benefits of being family-owned.

Construction on the new facility is expected to be completed in fall of next year.
