From May 28th through the 30th, Clay Center FFA members competed at the 97th Kansas FFA State Convention in Manhattan. FFA members are competing for an opportunity to participate in the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, in October.
Top finishers included:
- In the Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication Proficiency, Clay Center’s Gavyn Ryals finished as a State runner-up.
- Lauren Benfer finished in the runner-up spot in two proficiencies, the Dairy Production – Placement Proficiency and the Dairy Production-Entrepreneurship Proficiency.
- Aiden Sweet finished in the runner-up position in Grain Production Proficiency.
- Natalie Sleichter was runner-up in Swine Production – Placement Proficiency.
- In Veterinary Science Proficiency, Clay Center’s Adalyn Pfizenmaier took home top honors, coming in first.
Clay Center FFA was awarded the Triple Crown as one of the Top 10 Chapters in the State and finished in the Gold Division.
Various FFA members also walked away with Scholarship Awards.
