February 15th through February 22nd is National FFA Week and Central Valley Ag (CVA) Cooperative is again doing its part to help our future leaders with its “Fill Up for FFA” campaign. During FFA week 5 cents from every gallon of gas purchased at a local CVA pump with a CVA fuel card will go to the local FFA Foundations.
Mike Argo, CVA Energy Advisor in Clay Center, said all CVA pump stations are part of this giving week.
“For anybody who gets fuel during National FFA Week, five cents per gallon will go towards this project. FFA is a big leader in agriculture, and we want to help the members with their education, helping them to become great leaders in our communities.”
“The money will be split between the Nebraska and Kansas Chapters because we cover those geographies with CVA pump stations.”
Argo said FFA kids are our future in agriculture and as a CO-OP they want to be there to support them since they are our future leaders and farmers that will continue to feed the world.
He gave some insight into how the donations will make it into our local FFA Chapters.
“So how CVA does it is the money that we receive from people getting fuel at the pumps, that will go to the State FFA Chapter, which in turn trickles down to each FFA Chapter in each high school. That’s how it helps local members.”
There is still plenty of time to request a CVA fuel card by going to the CVA CO-OP website so you can help Fill up for FFA during National FFA week.
