Pasture Management Program to be Held in Belleville

Kaitlyn Nelson, Livestock Production Agent

Spring is right around the corner and many cattle producers will be turning cattle onto pastures. The next couple of months will be the optimal time to start taking care of those trees, brush, and invasive species that are dotting the pasture landscape.

Do you have any questions about your pastures like these? I need to reduce my trees, what methods can I use and when will they work best? What herbicide/herbicides are most effective for my problem trees and brushes? I found Old World Bluestem in my pasture, what can I do to get rid of it? If you answer yes, then join Keith Harmoney, K-State Range Scientist, as he will cover these topics as well as any other questions you might have about trees, brush, and invading species.

The pasture management program will take place on February 27th starting at 6:00 pm at the 4-H building on the NCK Free Fair Fairgrounds (901 O Street) in Belleville. Please RSVP by February 24th which can be done by calling the Washington office at 785-325-2121 or emailing livestock production agent Kaitlyn Nelson at khildebrand@ksu.edu.
