Clay Center, KS- Two Kansans are heading to the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship Qualifying Event October 29th.
The first of the three regional qualifying events for the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC) will be held in Ripley, West Virginia.
A total of 28 contestants, including our own Lynn Langvart of Chapman, Kansas
and Andrew Finlay, originally from Topeka, Kansas,
will compete for a spot in the semi-finals that will be held in Arcadia, Florida.
Lynn Langvart has competed in about seven competitions for auctioneering and started at a young age.
Andrew Finlay started auctioneering 12 years ago in 2010.
There are three regional qualifiers throughout the country and one international qualifier from Calgary, Canada, that Langvart and Finaly are competing in and only 30 will make it to the finals. At the finals 10 semi-finalist are cut down to three.
Contestants are judged on the clarity of their auction chant, professionalism; and their ability to conduct the sale while catching bids.
