The Washington and Marshall County Conservation Districts will host a Local Working Group (LWG) meeting on Thursday, February 27th, at 6:30 p.m. at Marysville City Hall. The meeting’s goal is to gather recommendations for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) State Conservationist and other leaders regarding local natural resource concerns. These recommendations will contribute to a statewide report.
Dan Meyerhoff, Executive Director of the Kansas Association of Conservation Districts, emphasized the importance of LWGs in shaping USDA conservation programs by ensuring local input. Topics at the meeting will include identifying resource concerns, training needs, outreach opportunities, and other relevant issues.
Anyone working in the agricultural sector, including farmers, ranchers, private forest landowners, and representatives of agricultural and environmental groups are encouraged to attend. To RSVP or get more information, contact the Washington County Conservation District or NRCS at (785) 325-2321.
