Clifton-Clyde USD 224 is excited to officially announce its 2026 Hall of Fame class. The class of 2026 will be inducted on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, between the varsity girl’s and boy’s games vs. Thunder Ridge High School.
The class of 2026 will include long-time USD 224 staff member and supporter, Nick Adkins.
Having worked for USD 224 since 1972, Mr. Nick Adkins has dedicated over 50 years of his life to our district and our communities.
During his time with USD 224 Mr. Adkins has had the opportunity to reach many students through his variety of roles. As a full-time teacher for USD 224 from 1972-2010, Mr. Adkins taught science, ELA, and PE at various times. In addition to his positive classroom interactions, he also reached students through head coaching middle school football, girls’ basketball, and track. He also served as a middle school boys’ basketball and track assistant. He has spent the last 15+ years substituting in all classrooms within the district.
When asked why he continues to be involved with USD 224 after all of these year Mr. Adkins always replies, “It’s because of the kids.” The students can always count on Mr. Adkins to hold them to a high standard, help them if they are struggling, and tell them an entertaining story. He has fond memories of all the years of the day-to-day events and long hours that help to create camaraderie between teachers, staff, and administrators.
Mr. Adkins has been honored in the past by USD 224, Blue Valley League, and VFW Post 7515 for his years of service to the district. He was also the 2000 KBCA Junior High Girls Coach of the Year.
